Being a student at the Living Seed, has taught me to awaken each day, raise my arms up to the sky, feel my body grounded to the earth, inhale deeply, and give thanks for another day of breath.

I initially started going to the Living Seed for massage therapy. I was suffering from neck and upper back pain. I had been receiving chiropractic care for years and I was at the point where I believed my condition would persist indefinitely. After my first session my muscles were so relaxed that my neck and back pain was significantly reduced and I realized that stress was causing my muscles to tighten and misalign my spine. I had received massage therapy before and I knew it was helpful, but the therapist at the Living Seed was very effective. She concentrated on areas that were causing problems and resolved them before moving to the next area. As I continued receiving therapy I began to notice all of the Yoga classes that were available.
I was skeptical of Yoga because I had pulled muscles during prior attempts. I believed that Yoga was good; I just didn't think it was the right type of exercise for me. When I decided to take a class at the Living Seed I chose one that sounded gentle. It was a small class and the instructor was aware that I needed to take it slow and modify postures to accommodate my level of flexibility, this attention to each student's ability really helped. I got through the class without hurting myself and I was able to feel the benefit of each pose without being flexible enough to touch my toes. After that class I started taking classes regularly and within a few months I regained a lot of flexibility. I was sore at first, but as I continued to practice I felt better. I used to see a chiropractor a few times a month now I go once or twice every few months, practicing Yoga in a balanced and careful way enables me to keep my spine aligned and free of pain. Practicing Yoga has also enabled me to feel the calming and clearing effects, these effects have given me an understanding of the connection between mind, body and spirit.
Over the course of the past nine months I have taken classes with 6 different instructors at the Living seed and they are all excellent. I attend a gym that has 10 different yoga instructors and I have taken classes in studios closer to where I live so I have been exposed to quite a bit of yoga. Enough to be sure that the instructors at the Living Seed are well trained, experienced, happy to be teaching and will do what is necessary to ensure each student is able to receive the benefits of practicing yoga.
